How has Soma helped your career?

The training I received was a big bonus in my job search. Many of my clients are surprised to find out that I have had clinical training and am able to address specific injuries/problem rather than just providing a "feel good" massage experience.

What have you enjoyed about you career?

Getting referrals from a satisfied client is very rewarding. It shows that I have established a measure of trust with that person. For example, I filled in for another therapist at a spa party a while ago and as a result one of the clients referred her aunt, who is a cancer survivor. She came in for her first massage last week and has set up a regular schedule of return visits.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge for me was finding the right career fit. Waiting can be a very trying experience. Coming from the corporate world, I had to work to change how I viewed potential employers and how they ran their business as opposed to how I thought it ought to be.
